Arunachal Pradesh
Enodo team member Jon Derksen spent last March in the restricted Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh located in the far northeastern reaches of India, scouting for Discovery Channel.   The first two weeks took Jon into the Apa Tani Valley (5000 feet), where he documented the culture and daily life of the Apatani people, long famous for their warrior traditions.  A few highlights include visiting sacred bamboo groves, tracking the rare mithun and sampling local delicacies like jungle rat.  He then made an expedition into the Patkai Hills along the border with Myanmar (formerly Burma) where he studied tribal body art among the ex-headhunting Wanchos.  Click here to view the Apatani adventure gallery.
